I have:

WD-80gb 7200rpm 8mb cache x1
WD-120gb 7200rpm 8mb cache x2
WD-250gb 7200rpm 16mb cache SATA x3

And an A8N-SLI Delux Asus mobo, with a XION PowerReal 600wt PSU.

I've hardly lurked here, but I have read a lot of Tom's postings :)

All I want is only some advice... those HDDs were expensive, and worth a little investment for their future.. or something like that. So, anyway, does anyone have some advice on what type of cooling units I should purchase for cooling my harddrives? I would like to cool 2-4 of them, as in the 80 gig (the oldest) is going to die soon, and I don't mind. Well, heck, I got the new ones for a reason:)

I have enough space in my case for some really ample cooling, but I would like a solution that only needs another hdd bay, and would possibly cool two hdds at once.

Anyway, I can fend for myself pretty well, after all I built it so far. Just point me in the right direction, or even show me exactly what to get. All help would be appreciated :)

I personally never saw the worth of those specific HDD cooler things. What I do is put an intake fan in front of the HDDs so the air is blown across them.

Just make sure you have good airflow thru the case and across the drives and that all you need. The only thing the coolers will do is add more noise and possible disrupt a good airflow causing an increase in temps overall.
It is possible to have too many fans in a case that end up with poor airflow and high temps.

1x 120mm in front of them will be perfect :)

I heartily second all that advice. Hard drive coolers are a waste! Just be sure that your front and back case fans are in the same direction. I've seen guys screw this up. Take a piece of toilet paper between your fingers to check this. Normally you want the front fan sucking into the case, and the back one exhausting OUT the back.

I found a little gadget with 3 fans that hooks onto the outside of a 5.25" drive bay. Works wonderful for my 2 HDs that (used to) run hot.

They dont push a lot of air, but the drives no longer feel Hot to the touch.
