Space Behind Case

How much space should there be behind my case. My desk is facing a wall so how much space should there be behind the end of my case and my wall so that the airflow is not restricted and the hot air can escape properly.

Air exhaust isn't that critical . Couple of inches I think would be sufficient. What is the most important is that there are no obstructions on the intake area of the case . Some cases have intake slots toward the bottom of the case and you should be careful not to block these with desk clutter.
