Sony VAIO FRV37
-----w/built in modem
Win XP Pro installed
Win XP home
SoftK56 Data Fax CARP modem/Conexant Systems
CXT
3/20/2003 --driver date
ver. 6.1.20.0

The laptop was bought with Win XP home and the modem works ok with the home
edition. After installing XP Pro, the modem is not recognized.

In Device Manager:

The com ports are not displaying.
"Other devices" are displaying question marks

Before this posting:

I deleted all of the queston marks.
Attempted another modem install
3 times

Rebooted back into Win XP Home to get the above modem information
used the *.inf file on the laptop in XP Pro
Problem not solved

Searched for driver on the internet and found the following:

http://drivers.softpedia.com/publi [...] /5-6.shtml

Downloaded zipped file...etc..
Ran the HXFSetup.exe file
It didn't do anything

Attempted to run it manually as a process and it disappears without any
errors.

Any ideas out there??

Thanks,
T.
