I am trying to build a new PC mainly used for entertainment: gaming, music, dvd’s, TV, internet. Noise is important while value for money is an issue although not to constrain the budget too much. This is the list I come up with, although for some of the parts I have more than one alternatives. Prices are included as help for people considering a similar configuration and they are in British pounds. I will probably start ordering soon, so any suggestions for other parts or remarks for those chosen are more than welcomed and will be appreciated.

OCing?

PSU: Enermax liberty unless you can get a Seasonic S12 at a similar price point.

Cooler: Go with stock. AMD has a fine stock HSF. If OCing and it gets loud, then come back here for replacement ideas.

DVDRW: How much are the NEC 3540A DVDRWs? If not available or costs more, then go for the LiteOn.

GPU: Thumbs up.

CPU: 3200+ if OCing. 3500+ OR 3700+ (San Diego core) if not OCing.

HD: Thumbs up.

Mobo: Either one. Both are great mobos - let price or specific features of the boards guide your decision.

RAM: In order to achieve dual channel with memory you must have to similar sticks of RAM installed - worth about 5% performance gain. 2X512MB should be minimum RAM for a modern gaming rig. Some games like even more: BF2 and WoW off the top of my head.
