Guys,

I need a card with superior raw rendering power, i.e. no need for fancy lighting and shadowing. I'm currently using a 5950Ultra, but would like to have better FPS on complex rendering with basic texturing. What card would you recommend?

Thanks.

"superior raw rendering power"?

Do you mean complex geometry with simple texturing? Whether it's complex textures or complex geometry, the newest, most powerful cards are still the kings. 7800 GTX or X1800XT.

Thanks guys, will check them out.

X1800XT and 7800GTX are good but I don't really need the added on shading and lighting functions.

Maybe so, but that's irrelevant by your requirements.

If you're looking for the best geometry processing 3d chips in gaming, that's them- the 7800 and X1800 - regardless of their other attributes.

If you're looking for CAD that's another matter entirely...

I don't need it for gaming. I need it to do 3D architectural rendering for anything from a building up to a whole city district for work. Been using game cards in the past but am now looking for better professional cards to do the job. 3D labs sounds like the solution anyway.
