hello all,
i reinstalled winnt 4 workstation but ie 2.0 could
not access the internet even though i could see other
systems on the network. after installing sp4 (ie 4.1
would not install, said the clock was wrong but it wasn't)
it still couldn't access the internet. i downloaded sp6a
onto another system in the network and copied the file
from there (full version). after installing sp6a the ie
was still version 2.0 so i downloaded ie 6 to another
system and copied it over. after installing ie 6 i could
access the internet but the windows update page will not
display. when i use view source there is an article
mentioned in the html code. i can look up that page but
it doesn't apply to winnt 4. i've installed, updated and
ran the symantec antivirus. all virus/worms have been
removed but i still can't display the windows update
page. any suggestions?
