i'm having probs deciding what card to get, the 1800XT or the 7800

i've picked out the memory i'm after, from reading other posts and picked the best CPU for the price, imo. Not planning to OC.

*OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Dual Channel Platinum

*AMD Athlon64 4000 San Diego

if i do go for the Geforce card it will prolly be the
XFX 7800GTX Extreme 256MB PCI-E
unless someone says a better card.

i don't have any plans to use dual graphic cards at the moment, but may change nearer April. I hear ATI are prettier in most games, not sure if this has changed at all, i know they run a little slower (or used too) than the Geforce cards.

any idea people?

X1800XT, GF7800GTX-512.

BTW, price always matters so it's all relative to what you can get each card for.

though tthe 512mb cards cost alot, but it seems that only the Geforce one seems to cost an arm and a leg. so i'm think its going to have to be the X1800XT. what would be the best make to go with the components i've found so far.

i've always been an Geforce Fan, well passed 2 cards have been. but there new flagship card is just that little bit too expencive to justify buying it. so i'm not to hot on ATI makes.

These are two top card...
You will have the classic nvidia vs ati debate (never ends).

Check the game you would like to play if they are ati games buy 1800
if they are nvidia buy 7800.

i think (even if i am an nvidia owner)that the spec of the 1800 are better

1800 has mem 750mhz ddr4 vs 600 mhz ddr3 for 7800
625mhz core vs 430mhz
48gb/s bandwith vs 38.4gb/s

If my spec's source are right.... spec is not all you know....but....
