I just bought a A75-S213 notebook (Toshiba) .
Conf : P4 - 3.3 HT , 1GB RAM, 100 GB HD, RADEON 9000, DVDRW DL.
Have been using it for almost a month now.
3 days ago, when i was upping some DVD images to my HD so i could watch while out, it hang and i had to reset it. After that, when the boot starts a black screen appears and the message "a disc read error occurred. Press ctrl+alt+del to restart". It took some resets with ctrl+alt+del until i could see the black screen with the gray bar run in the base of the screen again. It also took 10 times the normal time to boot but i was able to get back to windows.
After that i used the notebook for 1 day and it was freaking slow to boot and sometimes to do some HD access. I tryied to scan with NAV 2005 and another year has passed but finaly no virus.
Just now i tryied to system recover to 1 day before i had the problem started - Now the system takes even longer booting (like 5 minutes) and when inside windows, starting any application is a patience game.
Anyone could tell what is happening ? How can i fix this ? Is my HD lost ??
