Is There Any Add-On FS2004 Package

Is there an add-on that can start me out as a beginner pilot and then,
as I fly more and more required flights, I can earn better and better
ratings? Or maybe a package that assigns flights that have to be
flown in order to achieve a rating or mission objective. BTW - I do
not want to fly for virtual airline. I'd like this to be single
player.

THanks

Why don't you take the flying lessons that came with FS2004?
Follow those and you will earn your FS stripes. good Luck

I'm never going to be instrument rated until I can be bothered to print
out the approach charts. That checkride is tough. And who the hell is
that person ordering me around?

There're the pre-created flights in the "Select a Flight" menus. The flight
are all rated easy, medium or hard. You could force yourself to fly all of
the easy flights and then move to the medium flights, etc.

I've done that. I want something more challenging or different.

I've done that. I want something more challenging or different.

I don't quite understand. This sim is very like real flying, where the
existence of the aircraft and the whole world to choose from, makes the
challenge complete. Sim pilots are very like real pilots in that they set up
explorations and challenges themselves. That is why the sim is not really a
game. It's too big for that. Have you not thought of flying across Africa or
Russia or the Antarctic?
What about exploring islands or the Swiss alps? Installing extra scenery
and mesh make for big challenges. I have spent the past year exploring New
Zealand. I have done this in real life, and in the sim it is just as
interesting, especially if you fly along the Southern Alps in bad weather!

Have a go at working out your own challenges and you will never be bored. (I
hope you were not disappointed that FS9 was not an arcade game with various
levels to pass through.) If it was, it would never have sold in the huge
numbers that it does. It is the very open endedness of its challenges that
is the basis of its existence.

There are 'adventures' available for download which will serve as stimuli
for new flights, but as yet, after six years or so, I have never found the
need for one. Maybe one day!
