Can't really stand reading on a pure tablet. I love the e-readers, but the color jobs just don't do it for me. I do own a Amazon Fire and Amazon Kindle Touch and would never consider reading on the Fire unless it was all I had at the time.

Wish I had gone with the Nook over the Kindle just because I like B&N better.

"Our Reader’s Tablets have consistently been the highest rated products by the leading technology experts and now they're available for the lowest prices ever"
Bullshit. By no stretch of imagination are the Nook tablets better than the Nexus 7. Period.

The Nook short of being 'free' wouldn't interest me. Nook is dead, it was lame since day one. There's too many smart phones and tablets that make the Nook laughable. I even question the Kindle, but the saving graces are the month battery life and public library access.

i was hoping for a good deal on the nook simple touch glowlight ereader. that thing looks amazing. I hope the next B&N nook(or maybe the gen after it) would bring in to the market a good mainstream color e-ink ereader. I really dont give a rats ass about reading on tablets. B&N should focus more on real ereaders instead of tablets.

your eyes must feel real good after reading an entire book in one sitting on your super powerful phone.

Nook devices have consistently been the highest rated products when compared to other readers (Amazon, Kobo, Pandigital, Sony, etc )...No one in their right mind will compare the Nook power to the Nexus 7 or any other similar tablet. But when it comes to reading, power means squat. Only when you read for hours at a time you will see the difference.

I have a Nook Color-regrettably the comments are for the most part correct. It only runs B&N apps (the last system update locked out jailbreaks) and the browser's kinda slow compared to Android 4.0 tablets & phones. It's a fine E-Book reader though...

@ nuvo2965 just flash it with cyanogenmod and you will have Android on it. Not hard to do. My gf returned her Kindle after a week and got a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 for $199. Honestly, Kindle and Nook out of the box are meant for technically challenged people. Anyone with a Smart Phone should look to the Nexus or Galaxy tablets with Android ICS or JB.
