I've got a Leadtek Winfast A350 Ultra (256mb).

I'm not wanting to upgrade my mobo and CPU just yet, I figure in about a year or so. But I'm wondering if there's any AGP cards out there worth spending $150 on until I'm ready? Or would something like that be only a small increase?

Yep. newegg.com has a 6800 XT (neutered GT) AGP for $144.50 according to www.pricewatch.com

That'll give you a nice boost in performance.

Further researching your suggestion I've read comparisons saying that a 6600GT is better than a 6800XT?

All of these similar naming conventions make it really confusing... which is I'm sure what Nvidia's plan was. LE, XT, GT, GTX, there really ought to be a chart explaining all of these things.

So, you would recommend the 6800XT over the 6600GT?
Any idea what kind of performance increase these will give me over the 5900?

I haven't seen the cards pitted against each other. But if what you've seen makes the 6600GT better- go for it. Just make sure it's available in AGP format. :-)

Those things are $100 more for 128 MB more Video RAM...if you have a budget that's not worth it, IMO.

Heh, show me where you can find any new card at that price...

Actually, I got the deal of the century on eBay: a BFG 6800 Ultra 256meg for $158 shipped, so I'm pretty happy.

Wow, very nice! If its used, I hope it works. :D

Edit: To answer your question, most 6600 GTs are below or around $150 these days. For Example: JATON 3DForce6600GT Geforce 6600GT 128MB 128-bit GDDR3 AGP 4X/8X at Newegg.com They're still not a better deal than you got.
