hey everybodey (1st post ) i am whant to build my own computer using about 500 dollers ..... but im going to use some spare parts i have they are :
1x 100 gig harddrive
1x40 gig hardrive
525 megs of ram
300 wat psu

so what remains is the
motherboard
AGP card
cpu

any advice please

Well wih that you atre only looking at this setup

AMD 3000+ skt939
Chaintech VNF4
6800GS

That should cover it....but the problem is your RAM is slow and 525 is a randomass amount of ram. and i assume its slower PC2100 or PC2700 RAM....and with this setup you would be pushing the limits of your PSU depending on what brand you have.


I am not saying you couldn't do it....just some things to think about.

thanks , but i made a mistake , i need the motherboard to have a AGP x8 slot
the motherboard you sead does not.

if your buiying a new AGP card why does it matter?

i mean if you are buying a new mobo with an new AGP card...
OR
A new mobo with a new PCIe card....what does it matter if you arn't resuing a card?
