We use a community notebook that runs on nt, Is there a way to turn off
the password protection or make the username and password a blank, and turn
off password reset timer?

Thanks

Hi,

It is possible to setup an NT machine to 'automatically' log you in. (so you
don't have to type a username and password)

Please consider carefully what you are doing tho, this makes the content of the
laptop fully available to anyone - I'd suggest you set up the auto login to an
account with only 'user level' privledges - NOT an account with 'Administrator'
privledges.

To see how this is done have a look at:

http://support.microsoft.com/?id=97597 - How to Enable Automatic Logon in
Windows NT 3.x and 4.0
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=114615 - Bypassing Automatic Logon in Windows NT

Hope this helps,

Calvin.
