On June 25 (this year) a reader of this news group called AY post about this
subject.
The problem is the Mobile 2003 equipment trying to generate a VPN using
PPTP. The problem is during the negotiation of MPPE level that in my VPN
server is 128 bits and encryptation required.
The problem is that there is no way to force Mobile 2003 VPN built-in client
to "encryptation required" like in the Windows XP VPN client for sample. The
user AY propoused to install PHMRegedit and make modifications on the
"regedit" of Mobile 2003 to force the "encryptation required", but on that
date he didn't give the exact data to change at "regedit" to force the VPN
client.
Someone knows the data to modify on Windows Mobile 2003 regedit to force the
encryptation on the built-in VPN client??? I try to find out that
information on Microsoft and other forums without success and I couldn't
reach this AY user in anyother way.
I'm sure this wrong MPPE negotiation is the problem since I did a deep
reading on data arriving to the VPN server, and I cannot eliminate the
"encryptation required" on the server since is being used by other type of
clients that really need that.
