I installed SP6 on a NT 4.0 server, went fine. On reboot, I received a
message stating that the NTODKRNL.EXE file was bad so I booted into
the recovery console and copied the one from the service pack into the
correct directory. I then received an error with NTFS.SYS and did the
same thing. This time, the system finally booted and went into a
check mode, checking the disks, etc. When finished, it rebooted and
now just keeps reaching a certain point and rebooting with no error
messages. Any ideas on what to do next?! With no error, I don't know
where to start. Thanks

log in to safe mode change the startup option from reboot
to wait for users input, then the veen logs.
Copy sp6a files to CD and try to install that.
Note
whenever u install a service pack always select the
option to backup the old files so incase u have to revert
back you can go back to the older version.

Thanks - Actually, for simplification of the original message, I said
"I", it was really a friend, not me!! Anyway, I'll try that. Thanks
again.
