I'm new to this forum, i was recommended to it by a friend who says he gets help from here all the time. Maybe you can help me out. I've been trying to solve the problem myself for the past 3 days without any success, only failure, had to reformat my pc yesterday.

First my system specs:
Motherboard Name Asus A7V8X-LA (Kamet2)
CPU Type AMD Athlon XP, 2166 MHz (13 x 167) 3000+
1024MB DDR RAM
Chipset: South Bridge VIA VT8237
Company Name VIA Technologies, Inc.
DirectX 9.0c installed
AGP 8X mobo
My current graphics card: Ati radeon 9200SE AGP 128MB
Graphics card I'm trying to get to work: eVga 6600GT 128MB ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130220 )
Power supply info (430W): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817153023
Monitor details:
Monitor Name EPI EnVision EN-D1556A
Model EN-510

ok I'm having problems with upgrading the AGP video card. Whenever I put the new 6600GT inside the slot and try to power up, I get a No signal Monitor error. Nothing displays on the monitor, it just stays black whole time while pc is booting up. I get no beeps while the pc is booting up at all, the fans are turning and everything is working as normal, i just can't see anything is the problem. I've tried a multitude of things, as i have been working on this for 3 days. Any help is appreciated.

I think that this card and mobo are incompatible. See these threads:

Everyone resolved the issue with a new motherboard. At risk of pissing someone off, stay away from VIA based motherboards. They suck.

nice finds. man, that is really a shame, just when i thought i'm getting something good for my computer, the motherboard is incompatible for it. sigh.. thanks for enlightening me tho, i appreciate it. such bad luck i have. my friend said the evga website says its compatible with my mobo, although i cannot find where it says that, so i will get him to point it out to me when he gets around..
