I need some diagnostic software for testing my optical drive’s reading and writing abilities. One of my drives has acted a bit strange lately and therefore I would like to run som diagnostics on it, not only rely on putting CDs/DVDs in it until the drive gives up completely.
The best thing would be if I can run the diagnostics outside windows (boot from a cd with the diagnostics on it).
Do you have any suggestion on where I can find that?

With the current price of optical devices, chances are that the diag. software might actually cost more than a new drive ...
