Perhaps a "CrayonJet"?

Does perhaps depend on "document".

You mean a thermal wax jet printer? Yeah, those are great,
waterproof, glossy prints, high res, ultra sharp text, but they cost a
whole lot to run and tend to be fairly slow.

That depends a lot on what type of documents, (color, black and white,
text, images?)

How many you need of each (1 of each, dozens, hundreds?)

How long you need them to last (a few months, a few years, permanently)
and how they might be used or displayed.

If cost is a main factor (cost of equipment and cost of consumables)

If speed is a main factor

As you can see, the answer to your question requires a better defined
question. If you can fill in some blanks, I'm sure some of us can offer
you some suggestions.
