okay, i'm building a system after christmas, and i was wondering about what power supply to get. i'm planning on getting all this junk:

Amd Athlon 64 3200+ venice (soc. 939)
CHAINTECH VNF4/Ultra mobo
eVGA Geforce 6800GS
NEC ND-3540A just-about-everything-burner
CORSAIR ValueSelect 1GB (2 x 512MB) dual channel ram
Creative Sound Blaster value soundcard

what do i need in the power department? i was looking at the ATRIX PSCI-500BLK 500 watt psu, but is that too much voltage? is there anything wrong with getting a psu with more voltage than you need? i really have no clue what i'm looking for, but i know i want the best i can get for the least amount of money, just like every other person. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Stick with a good PSU from a reputable mfr. FSP (Fortron) makes good affordable PSUs like this FSP 450W. Enough power for your system. It doesn't hurt to have too much power, especially if you plan on OCing. If your PSU has WAY to much power and is only lightly loaded (less than 50%) then you do lose some efficiency.
