ZZF needs to get off the crack pipe - they have the A8R listed for $199. Anywhoooooo - I haven't seen the AT8 at any of the regular locations and no hits on pricewatch either....

Hi, Richard,

We experienced high failure rate on Abit AT8 motherboards with our previous batch. We decided not to carry this product at this moment. We will re-evaluate the motherboard when the current batch from our distributors' warehouse run out.

Thank you very much.

seriously.. think about it. The Asus is expensive and don't look nice. Looks like a product ruched to the market, just like the DFI.

OTOH, the ECS is cheaper. And, even if it don't have SATA2.. who care. Pretty useless to date.

In some time, newer ATI southbridge will be available, with rev 2 of various motherboard. That could be a good occasion to sell that ECS and get the best ATI out there..

Anandtech updated the Asus A8R-MVP review to include an X1800XT

Is that it beating a 7800GTX!

Results with the ATI X1800XT on the Asus A8R-MVP were very intersting. THe X1800XT was either tops or matched results in all games not based on Open GL engines. In games base on Open GL, like Quake 4 and Doom 3, the new 5.11 driver has made up most, by not quite all, of the performance advantage perviously held by the nVidia 7800GTX. Keep in mind that these results are our standard tests, with AA and AF turned off if possible. We have found that as soon as AA and AF are turned on the X1800XT is tops even in Open GL compared to the 7800GTX.
