help needed with fx5500

Recently my graphisc card suddenly started massively under-performing.E.g. fps in cs:s down from 60 to 15. It has never been over clocked or fiddled with technically. Any suggestions on what might of gone wrong would be a great help.

That's strange. Have you made any changes to your system- like new drivers? If you haven't, try installing the latest nVidia drivers or reinstalling your old ones (whichever applies).

Also, take a look at the GPU fan (if it has one). Did it stop spinning by any chance?
