Seagate 300GB SATA

hey i cant get my SATA 300GB drive to work!

I have an ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe i get the F6 drivers to recognize the drive, i partition it, and windows starts to install... then it happens, the error i can't get around

"Setup cannot opy the file: si3112r.sys"

this is on the driver floppy drive along with other required files for the install... how can i get the install to read the floppy drive and copy the file for the install?

Who or what told you that you need this driver to install windows?

Unless you're installing RAID or some off the wall SATA controller, you shouldn't need that driver.

Try installing windows w/o that driver. (don't hit F6 in setup)

no drive can be found

i'm using the Mobo's RAID controller .. it's not seeing it. idk.

Sounds like the floppy disk is bad, not the actual drive. Try copying the disk or download a new one off the asus website.

I think he's trying to use the Silicon Image controller, not an on-chipset controller. Does the nForce2 even support on-chipset SATA? I didn't think it had SATA!
