Gaming system for 1000.00-1200.00

I am new to the boards and I need some advice in building a new computer. My last system fell to the wrath of Katrina. It was a pent 4 2.8, 9800 pro, 1 gig memory, 2 x80 gig western digital harddrives with raid.

My new system parts which I plan to purchase are:

What's this thing with people getting the SLi mobos and not having two video cards???????????????

Scrap the Sli and get this epox or the chaintech or the asrock

The price doesn't matter, they all perform the same. Strange thing is that the asrock is probably the best despite it's bad IDE connector placement.

Are anything from the last system reusable???all the following are based on the fact they can be reused

If so, save yourself some $$$ and get the asrock because:
It supports both AGP and PCIe, so reuse the 9800 pro and wait 'til Jan when the price on the 7800gt(280 right now with rebates) drops. There is no point getting the 6800GS when you have the 9800 pro. If not, get the 7800gt over the 6800GS for $90 more and twice the speed.

what kinda ram was it? if it was dual channel PC3200 then reuse it. now get only another gig(or not) for $80 shipped. that frees up $$$ for the 7800gt.

the two hdd should be reused if you don need more than 160gb.

the rest is fine, you might wanna invest in 2 case fans for the case cause it might get hot.

Oh getting everything from zipzoomfly? monarch computer is a better choice(in georgia). do their mobo or pc combo and get a free hl2 copy with it. the choices of stuff are more limited but should suit you fine.
