NT / WINS Network -- 2000/XP clients

Have multiple client machines that do not show up in Network Neighborhood
however I can ping them by name and ip

Any ideas or if this is not a good newsgroup to post this in any known good
ones.
Thanks for your help in advance,
BillB

Do they point the correct Wins servers? Are they on different subnets? Is
Netbios over TCP/IP installed(Win2k and up)?

Yes pointing to correct Wins Server via DHCP
Yes on different subnets
I would say clients have Default or Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP in the TCP/IP
properties in WINS/NETBIOS Setting
What should the setting be in DHCP for Netbios over TCP?

Enable Netbios as s standard. You will need WINS on both subnets in order
to browse both subnets. Netbios boradcasts are typically blocked by routers
and if you open them you typically reduce the advantages of subnets by
creating more traffic across both subnets. Have a look here
