Faster ram or more of it. What would you do and why?

I currently have the opportunity to either have this ram: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145524 or this stuff:

For those who don't wish to follow the links the first is a gig of Corsair XMS Pro Model 3200XLPRO. The second is 2 gigs of XMS PRO. Now I just started getting deeper into building machines and I don't know much about latency but from what I have read the first set of ram has ideal latency but is only 1 gig. The second set has non-ideal latency but is double the amount of the first. So what should I do? What would you do? What would be the benefits of one or the other? I'm on a quest for knowledge so the more information the better. Thanks to any and all who contribute!

depends on what you do. MMO's dont have the advantage of caching the entire level like single player games. take WoW or EQ2 for example, and I am sure you will notice some difference with more capacity. however for 9/10's of other apps, Lower Latency will beat capacity most of the time (hence the arguements on if DDR2 is worth it). I am by no means an expert so feel free to shoot my ideas down.

Thanks for the help. I do play MMO's but the majority of my gaming is fps stuff. But for the most part I just run a lot of applications at once. Thanks again for all the feedback.
