nt 4.0 sp 6a domain. some users cannot login to domain. xp/2000/nt clients.
official subnet mask is 255.255.192.0 dhcp, wins and dc's are set to
255.255.0.0. only dns servers (which are not windows servers) are set to the
mask of 255.255.192.0. will there be any problem with wins talking to dc's
and thus preventing clients from talking to domain controllers with current
subnet mask configuration?
.. . if we edit the clients lmhosts file with wins server then the clients
locate the domain and can login and have access to resources. we login in
locally to the clients to edit lmhosts and then log off and logon to the
domain.
