to put it simply, I can't turn it off. The options are 'impossible', the
greyed-out noninteractive options. This was the result of spyware that
replaced certain files controlling it. I killed the bug, and replaced as many
files as I could find. Now I still can't turn it off, but I can at least put
what I want on it.
