always low... I cannot figure out why it turns on at midnight... any help

I believe PocketPCs turn on at midnight to do housekeeping and get set
up for the next day. The most you could do is set it to turn off after a
short period. I have an iPaq 2215 and if you hold the on/off switch down
for two seconds while it is on, it sets it so the backlight to not turn
on when it is powered up. This also saves battery life. Holding it down
in a like manner sets the backlight to turn on again.
