Hi,

I am having a SATA 120 GB Hard DISK and 80 GB IDE Disk. I installed XP on SATA 120 GB. when i go to disk manager it shows :

IDE Hard Disk as 0
SATA Disk as 1

I want to know how to make SATA as the 0th one in disk manager...pls help

Why is it you want the sata drive to show up as disk 0 ?

You can't. The controller is assigned by the order in the chip. usually, PATA first and SATA second.

If you wnat XP to install on the SATA, unplug the other one during the install and plug it back once installed. That will prevent the windows install to be on a letter different than C:
