Can I unplug my second internal hard drive, then install new OS on first hard drive, then plug hardrive back in and have access to my data and files?

HD's are NTFS...

Have someone read that question out loud to you. It makes no sense.

Does your "second internal hard drive" have windows on it?

If not, then you don't need to remove it at all. Just make sure you setup windows on the right drive.

I'd rather leave it plugged in but want to make sure I reinstall on the right disk...so plugging in a full harddrive to an XP system is cool? It wont ask to reformat it or "install" or otherwise do something that will make the data on the disk unavailable?
