Hello,
We are using Cisco PiX firewall to connect corporate mail server
(MS-EXCHG) thru secure VPN access. Is it possible to connect exchange
server without cisco concentrator from Windows-CE Pocket PC?

There are a few ways to connect to an exchange server but you need to know
what the IT dept allows. If they have pop3 or imap installed, enabled and
availabe on the internet then you could setup your mail account in pocket
outlook and use that. If your company is running exchange 2000 with MIS or
exchange 2003 and if they have it enabled you could use exchange server
activesync which lets you sync your mail, conctacts and appointments
directly with the exchange server over a secure connection. Get with your
IT dept and see what they have available.

Helo Eric,
Thanks for your assistence.
We are using IMAP , and not enabled to access from outside the
network, other than secure VPN gateway (Cisco PIX Firewall). Mobile
users usually connect our corporate mail server by cisco vpn client
through normal dial-up internet connection.
My question is ? is it possible to access mail the same way which i
used to connect from laptop(i mean VPN access). But the connection is
GPRS.
And i have tried in built windows-ce's VPN client , it is not
compatible with our cisco pix-firewall.
I saw so many VPN client software but it all depends on CISCO VPN
concentrator, but we dont have seperate VPN concentrator other than
CISCO Pix Firewall.
Hope you understand my problem. Thanks in advance.
REgards,
Shareel

I read in some previous postings that built-in VPN client on PocketPC will
work agaist CISCO if you use IPSec instead PPTP. Not sure. Anyway I read
that MovianVPN is working properly.
I have another open item "Mobile 2003 for PPC built-in VPN doesn't work"
speaking about my findings on the PPTP VPN subject.
Best Regars,
Fidelio

Shareel,
Ok I understand now. When it comes to windows mobile 2003 the
3rd party vpn client list has become shorter than it was with ppc2002. I
know cetricom (http://www.certicom.com/index.php?action=product,mvpn) has a
vpn client that I know supports many vpn endpoints. It will probably beone
of the better choices for a vpn client and there's a demo available so yo
ucan see if it's right for you. Checkpoint has a client as well put it
only works with their vpn endpoints.
