Faster memory = no improvement?

Hello,

I have a Gigabyte K8N Pro SLI board with 1gb Corsair TWINX1024-3200C2PT memory. By default, the MB has the memory timings at CAS 3-3-3-8 even though the memory supports 2-2-2-6. SO..... I went to the advanced settings on the MB and set the Cas to 2.5 3-3-8. (I am playing with one setting at a time in case...) Then I set the timing from 2t to 1t.

Using easytune 5 I set the memory voltage to 2.7. Here is my issue::::I ran aquamark before and after my settings changes. There was virtually no improvement whatsoever. Did I do something wrong????

Thank you for any help.

no, you just have discovered the beauty of an ondie memory controller and how it deals great with latency ...

And aquamark is more a video card tester than a CPU one. Get a memory benchmark apps to check your memory speed. While you'll see differences there, you won't notice anything in real life usage.

But since people buy numbers, having great benchmark number to show off is a plus ..
