I've got a NT 4.0 network with a Windows NT 4.0 server sharing printers for
Windows NT 4.0 Workstation clients. When I go through the Add Printer
wizard on a client and select "Network Printer", sometimes I'll see a list
of printers in the selection box in the UNC format (\\servername\printer)
listed above the server list and sometimes it won't be there and I'll have
to click on the print server computer to expand the printer list, where the
printers are then listed by their share name. I have not been able to
determin why the list appears formatted differently at different times.
I've searched the knowledgebase with no luck. Anyone have any ideas?
What's the default behavior supposed to be?
