I have a Megaraid 320-2e controller and an atlas 15k v2 hard drive. I have tested my burst speed and have achieved a score of 512MB/s on "hd_speed", a disk benchmark found here: http://www.steelbytes.com/?mid=20
I get this score every time using a 64MB block size.
I think a higher score may be achievable on the burst test, but I would like to see if the controller is using enough pci-e lanes. Since I am getting 512MB/s, I am assuming the card is only using x2 pci express lanes(2x256MB/s=512MB/s). The card is supposed to support x8 pci-e lanes. I am using an ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe MB. The Megaraid card is installed in the second x16 slot.
Is there any way of testing my card, with software, to see how many pci-e lanes are being used by the card?
I have tried Sandra, Fresh Diagnose & Pc Wizard so far.
