Price. And just because of DRM issues, not Sony. But that's a personal issue so some may not agree.

Actually, I meant whichever is cheaper.

DRM = Digital Rights Management. Sony sent out several hundred thousand CDs with a windows rootkit program that quietly installed its copy protection software onto your PC if you played those CDs. Got a lot of media flap over here in the states.

Lite-On. I just don't trust Sony on ANYTHING computer related.

Lite-On by a mile. Not only because of DRM, but because Lite-On manufactureres a lot of SONY branded Optical Drives!

If that's the case, then buy Lite-On and save $50 by not paying for the Sony name!
