I want to upgrade my graphics card(64mb geforce ti200) on my dimension 8200 and I'am looking for some feedback from the peeps in the know. I mostly use my pc for gaming on-line, mostly COD2 for now. My FPS suks playing the new COD2 on-line...np in single player mode......
processor is 2.0G, 512k w/ 512mb mem...
I also upgrade by monitor to a 20" flatscreen...
I spoke to Dell's famous customer service a couple of dif times and they offered two dif cards.
1. Vision teck-xstasy radeon 9600 256mb AGP....$126.95
2.Geforce 6600 256mb...$143.95
Now I've been reading the forums @ Dell and lots of folks have had bad things to say about trying to get their Geforce 9600 to work w/ the dimension 8200...either they work or they don't...something to do w/ the power supply or the motherboard..
I haven't read anything neg about the radeon as of yet, so before I go and spend a whopping $150, I thought I would get some better advise...
Those two cards arnt that good and their overpriced... 9600 is old school... while both would allow you to play cod2 at considerably better fps than ur current setup , there are way bettter deals..... i would suggest a 6600gt, a much better value and itll allow u to play cod2 at medium settings at 1024x768... btw- check to see if ur power supply can handle it...
