Anyone using their cellular phone w/Windows Mobile 2003 or Pocket PC 2002 to dial into an NT, 2k, 2k3 RAS server?
During PPP authentication, the server sends a config/ack and then times out before the cellular modem's response can get back to the RAS server (propagation delay). The RAS server resends the config/ack, but then receives the original reply, causing the RAS server to hangup immediately.
If I could get the RAS protocol engine to be a bit more patient - the thing would work. Anybody know of a registry setting to force PPP protocol phases to treat the call as a slow link?
By the way, search RAS Timeout in KB and the article for NT describes this issue in great detail. Although the problem is present on any RAS server - the latest service pack doesn't fix this for NT.
