128 VS 256 6600GT eVGA

Im allllmost done now. Buying 2 of these type cards (third will be 7800gt or im reconsidering the ATI1800X but probg will go nvid)

Between the 128 and the 256 6600GT models, do you think the extra $50 is worth it ($100 for both)? The 2 girls getting these will play a few games, nothing intense, but prob do a bit of photo and video editing
whatcha think worth it..? Im really on the fence.
PS: If you wanna chime in on 7800GT VS 1800XT go for it, confuse me more~!

More about : 128 256 6600gt evga

Personnaly i would not throw in 50$ more considering that 6600gt is kind of minimum requirement for newest games in high res. 256meg does not give more performance.

D'ont be caught by what i would call the 'some game syndrome' a computer is mostly a toy for a lot of people and the video card is an important part of that toy.
The day the girls w'ont be able to play the specific game they want it will be ugly....

if you want to invest buy some 6800 xt or gs will be a more durable solution...

and by the way the 7800GT is hell of a strong card

Being the 2 people using these cards will both be doing photo/video editing..and theyll be hooked up to 37' LCD monitor/TVs i have also een reading up on Avivo since i heard of it. Im wondering if something with Avivo would work better for them. Especially since i found this Sapphire (a brand which i know nothing about) Yeah the mem is hugely impressive at 512mb (especially at this price, which seems-off) im also curious as to how the Nvidia compares with like video image quality. That mnitor will be for both their PCs as well as TVs, and with Avivo i can maybe do some capturing on the PC and then output there, so image quality is important
As of now im really leaning towards this card mostly from what i read about Avivo.....but 2 problems
A) dont know squat about Sapphire, although ATI talks highly of them
2) the price scare the hell out of me hehe....at $159 its cheaper than the older (relative term) 6600gt 256mb It seems REALLY nice....just too good to be true. Any help here would be great, cause im ready to pounce on that price...except i dont wanna buy crap .
Thanks for replyin

Yup. saphire is a good company and i would risk myself to say that any ati is quality (even if i am a nvidia owner  )

Richpls is right it is a good deal.

My only concern is that this card has only 4 pixel pipes so for gaming i d'ont know......but it is not the main goal of your buy.

  sorry got that wrong it is 12 pixel pipes so it is a ok
