Clients attempting to VPN into my network are generating the following error
in the System Event Log:

The user %1 has connected and failed to authenticate on port %2. The line
has been disconnected.

The users passwords are all correct. No other errors exist in the event
logs. The server has not been recently modified.

I'm at a total loss. Any ideas?

Hi,
Can you let us know what is the error you get on the client?
Also, passing on the logs might help. You can enable tracing on both server
and client using the command "netsh ras set tracing * ena". Then make the
connection. After that disable tracing(netsh ras set tracing * dis) to flush
the logs. And pass on the logs at %windir%\tracing
