new dual core amd

I am going to buy a new PC sometime after the 1st of the year. Is AMD going to be releasing something new to coincide with Intel's new release of their 900 series?

PS - I know that the present AMD x2 is better than the upcoming 900 series.

Jan 10 or 15 AMD is supposed to release the FX-60, a Dual-core faster than the 4800+. 2nd qtr '06 a new socket and series of chips are coming out that are similar to the current offerings (probably some speed bumps) but can use DDR2 RAM.

here are the reported specs so far.....fx-60 2.6ghz 1mb x 2......X2 5000 2.6ghz 512kb x 2. fx might be as much as $1200
