Choice between Operton and 3700??

Are you overclocking? If yes, pick the Opteron. If no, pick the cheapest.

Its pretty much the same CPU, but Opterons go through a lot more stress testing and verification, so they tend to overclock better than the less tested/verified A64's. At stock speeds, they're the same (they're pretty much the same CPU even though the core names are different).

I do intend to OC, however the San Diego OCs pretty good as well. Although the reviews I've read do seem to indicate that the Opteron would probably be the better choice. Just my opinion. Also this particular Opteron is a Venice core w/1M L2!!!!
