My current setup is thus: 2ghz Athlon XP processor, Radeon 9200 128mb video card, and a 1GB dual-channel kit of ram on a motherboard that doesn't support SATA, or dual-channel memory, and it only runs my video card at 4x maximum.
What I want to do is take my perfectly good processor and buy a new motherboard for it as well as a video card of the PCI-Express variety.
According to both Zipzoomfly.com and Newegg.com, motherboards that have a PCI-E slot and processor Socket A/462 don't exist.
Why is this?
Is my only opinion at this point to buy a new AMD 64bit processor that runs at the same speed that my Athlon XP does for a wasted 160 dollars?
