Hi all,

This is probably the wrong group to ask about DOS clients but I couldn't find any newsgroup about DOS..!!

I have a problem connecting my DOS client to one of my Linux servers running SAMBA. I am using LANMAN 2.1.
From the SAMBA server I can ping the DOS client and vice versa. But I cannot connect to a SAMBA share from DOS.
It gives me Error 53: The specified computer name cannot be found on the network. I have tried putting the SAMBA servers name in LMHOSTS file. But it didnt help.

Any ideas?
Your help is highly appreciated.
Again, sorry for posting this in a wrong group.

Thanks
Ravi

Hi, try connect using IP address instead of server name.
