I have WINS running on an NT4 server. I want to move it to a new W2K server.
What is the best way to do this?

Is this a single WINS server environment? Is so I wouldn't even bother
migrating. WINS is dynamic and within a couple hours will repopulate itself.
Just install WINS on the new server and change your clients to point to it.

Thanks for the reply!!

So if I'm going to have the new W2K server use the same IP address, I can
just shutdown the NT4 server and then bring up the W2K server with WINS???

Thanks again.

Yes but make sure you clear out any references to the old WINS server in the
database unless you are using the same name too.
