First off, how much gaming/multimedia do you do??? that might change what you need.

If you wanna OC, ASUS are not the best choice. They are known for stability, not necessarily OC stability. You wanna pick something "crappy" to OC.

Pickxx would suggest this one
I would go cheap and get this Asrock
Or, if you are experienced with OC, get this lan party

The advantage to the cheapo Asrock is that it has a CPU upgrade slot for the future M2 CPU whereas the rest doesn't, so all the other mobo won't be able to get new CPU. BUT, socket 939 will still get developed so no worry.

There's no need for RAID card as mobos have integrated RAID controller, save you a few bucks.

I don know about the sound, video capture stuff so let others get in on it. heard about ATI AIW AVIVO card are good with multimedia, but not that good for gaming.

Anyway the video card will last the time you specified, though it can't be OC'ed further unless you change the stock cooler.

people were saying the VX Gold series RAM are the best OC'er, so look into that.

Oh ya, if you OC, make sure you have adequete cooling!!! You need two case fan(in, exhaust)-120mm preferred. SO you might wanna change the case as it only has 80mm fans. The XION II is cheap and good. A CPu HSF other than the stock if you go above 15% OC.

And yes, this system will last 3 year.

Splendid
First off I think you've done an excellent job picking components so far :-D

Great MOBO, CPU, RAM, VGA, TV tuner, etc :-D

I would maybe go with an ANTEC case tho like this one:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811129145

plus an ANTEC neopower power supply or other nice modular PSU so you do not have to use cables you don't need.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817103941

or it's cheaper sibling

Do you need more than 4 SATA devices? I saw you had an extra SATA controller in there.

good luck with your build :-D

I play games a few times a week and I do video capturing quite often, I would say twice or three a week.
