So I have Windows 8 on my new desktop, and wondered what happens when the Developer preview expires.
It seems it will expire March 13th or so. I imagine a new beta or even a release candidate would be rolling out
by about that time, right? But say when the official version launches, and I am still on a Developer Preview or Beta; what will Microsoft do?

Any ideas on if I (or others who got in on the Dev Preview) will have an option like the upgrade discs or anytime upgrade on 7?

Yes, virtually every version in the past has required a total new reinstall from scratch, although there were times in the past on an occasion or two that it was possible to upgrade via a loophole, but I would be on having to do a complete reinstall.
