Ipod Help

My ipod is stuck at the start-up screen. It's a black screen with the apple logo and a bar under it, the bar is empty. How do i fix it so it loads and gets to the lock screen as usual? please help!!!

hard reset, google your model (nano, classic 4th 5th yada yada yada) with the term "hard reset" and you should find info on how to do it
