Looking to buy a dual core cpu namely a Opteron 165 or 170 for my rig but
will it work on my mobo...I have a Asus A8v deluxe K8T800pro chipset. Looked at Asus support web site a looked up suppoted cpu's it will support the X2 cpu's but didn't say anything on the optey's
I have the latest bios..1017 and currently the 1017 update info is not listed on their site. Does anybody know different?

s939 optys will work in s939 mobos.

Rugger is right as always. AMD boards that are 939 pin support all 939 pin chips! Wish other chipmakers took the clue.

Yes, 100% compatible, but may need to update to current mobo's bios.
