my pc is:
processor
4 2.4 ghz (800 FSB,512kb L2 cache)
mobo: intel 865 GBF
ram:512 mb kingston + 512 mb twinmos (both 400 mhz)
gfx: sapphire 9600 pro atlantis (256 mb)
HDD: maxtor 40gb+ maxtor 80 GB
i am a moderate gamer with a pretty tight budget. i have never overclocked any part of my system before, they all run in stock speed. i heard "ghost stories" about how CPU hangs up when overclocked and gfx cards fumin up and what not!
i want to know how is it you guys overclock ur systems!(specially CPU)! is it safe? i got a overclockin software with my gfx card but never used it. as i have told u, i am on a tight budget and cant afford more than a few coolin fan here and there, so keep the advices 'reasonable'.
note: i play in long sessions, so i prefer longer stability than short outbursts.
