Want to know how to open the 16 pipelines of a X800 GTO2

I’m about to buy a Sapphire X800 GTO2 and I have heard that this card can be unlocked to 16 pipelines even can run like a X850 XT PE. I want to know if this is true end how can I do this. Do I really need better cooling that the out of the box device?

A friend of mine has the card and he is running it on stock cooling.

Don't worry. I have been doing a lot of research on this card and many people say you don't need more than stock cooling, but being me I still felt skeptical so I am looking at the Arctic Cooling ATI Silencer 5 Rev 2 as well, which seems to be the way many people go if they really want to push their cards.
